While all images on this website are copyrighted by the photographer, George H. Thomas, my licensing policies are designed to balance the desire to share my photos with the general public with the costs that go into creating and sharing these images. There are two license agreements for all photos on www.naturepicsbygeorge.com:

Creative Common License

With Creative Common licenses you are free to share, copy, distribute and transmit the image for non-commercial purposes.

Under these conditions:

Attribution - Attribution to George H Thomas and NaturePicsByGeorge must be made along with the image.

Non-Commercial - The image must not be used for commercial purpose under any circumstances. For clarity on what defines commercial use, please see the sample accepted uses below.

Sample Accepted Use of the Creative Common License:

- Blog post describing a trip and/or a scene encountered
- Online article that includes NaturePicsByGeorge images
- A website for a school project that requires photos that NaturePicsByGeorge can supply
- An individual using an image as a desktop background

Commercial Use License

"Commercial Use" regarding the use of NaturePicsByGeorge images online or offline is defined very broadly. The determination of commercial or non-commercial use is based on the contextual use of the image. The determination is NOT based on the tax-filing status of the individual or organization using the image nor on whether or not a financial transaction takes place.

Commercial use of any of my images is allowed only if expressly granted by NaturePicsByGeorge. All commercial uses will incur a licensing fee. These fees are based on the following criteria:

Media - print, web, television, etc.
Distribution Size - number of copies printed, viewing audience size, exposure (regional, national, international)
Length of Use - 1 year, 2 years, etc.
Prominence of Display - 1/4 page, 1/2 page, full page, spread, cover, home page (online), billboard, etc.

Sample Use Requiring Commercial Use License:

- A marketing campaign for a commercial organization
- A fund-raising campaign for a not-for-profit organization
- A background image for any commercial or not-for-profit organization website
- License to create an individual print for use in a private home or business

To Purchase a Print

To purchase a print of one of my images, please send an email to gthomas@naturepicsbygeorge.com providing the image ID (seen when your cursor hovers over the image) and size (5x7, 8x10, 11x14, etc.) that you would like. Note, not all images are available in all sizes.

All of the photos displayed on the NaturePicsByGeorge website are for sale. I make my own prints up to a size of 17x25 - after which I use a professional lab for anything larger. Prints are offered on five different paper sizes as follows:

Images are resized to fit within the maximum print dimensions listed above while maintaining the ratio of the sides the same as you see on the website. All prices include free shipping to addresses in the continental United States. Upon receiving your print order and any optional mounting and/or framing requests, I will confirm the total amount with you via email. At that time, all payments must be provided via personal check, cashiers check, or money order mailed to the address that I will specify in the confirmation email. Once payment is received, your order will be processed as quickly as possible.
